Your data

Your budget stays on your device.

By default, Goldy saves everything on your device and sends nothing. Goldy Cloud is optional: nothing leaves without your consent, and Goldy always answers on your device.

  • No connection to your bank
  • No targeted advertising or audience measurement
  • Goldy Cloud is optional

Where your data goes

Two situations, two paths.

The Web and Windows apps work the same way.

  1. By default

    Local mode

    1. Your deviceBudget, preferences and recovery copies.

Nothing leaves your device. The Goldy server is not contacted, either for your budget or for your questions to Goldy.

  2. If you create an account

    Goldy Cloud

    1. Your deviceYour budget stays usable right there.
    2. Goldy serverAPI hosted by Cloudflare.
    3. SupabaseYour account and a copy of your budget.

A copy of your budget is kept with your account so you can find it on your other devices. The first sync asks for your explicit consent. Your questions to Goldy stay on your device.

Your bank appears in neither of these paths: Goldy never connects to your bank accounts and never asks you for any banking login details.

Who sees what

What each party can see.

  • Your budget in local mode

    Where it is
On your device: in your browser (Web) or in your Windows profile
    Who can access it
Only you, from that device. Goldy’s publisher has no access to it.
  • Your backup files

    Where it is
    Wherever you save them
    Who can access it
You, and anyone you give the file to.
  • Your synced budget (Goldy Cloud)

    Where it is
With Supabase, via the Goldy server
    Who can access it
You, from your signed-in devices. The database access rules restrict your data to your account.
  • Your account email address

    Where it is
    With Supabase, for authentication
    Who can access it
You, and the service, so you can sign in and recover your password.
  • A question you ask Goldy

    Where it is
On your device only: Goldy works out its answer inside the app
    Who can access it
No one but you. The question is not sent anywhere, even with Goldy Cloud.
  • Your support payments

    Where it is
    With Stripe
    Who can access it
Stripe, which processes the payment. Goldy never receives your card details.
  • Your synced budget is protected in transit and by your account, but it is not end-to-end encrypted: technically, the service administrator can access it. It is used only for syncing.
  • Goldy does not itself encrypt the budget saved on your device or your exports: protect your device and keep your backups somewhere safe.

Stay in control

Export, delete, recover.

Export your budget

  1. Open “Compte et données” (Account and data) in the app.
  2. Choose “Exporter la sauvegarde” (Export the backup).
  3. Keep the JSON file somewhere safe: it contains your financial data.

This file can be imported again on the Web or on Windows.

Recover your data

  1. From a backup: “Compte et données” (Account and data), “Choisir une sauvegarde Mon Budget” (Choose a Mon Budget backup), then “Restaurer cette sauvegarde” (Restore this backup) once the file has been checked.
  2. Before each restore, Goldy keeps a copy of your current budget (“Copies avant restauration”, copies before restore).
  3. With Goldy Cloud: sign in on your new device to find your synced budget.

Lost password: on the sign-in screen, choose “Mot de passe oublié ?” (Forgotten password?).

Delete your Goldy account

  1. Open “Compte et données” (Account and data).
  2. Choose “Supprimer mon compte Goldy” (Delete my Goldy account), then confirm.
  3. The online account and its remote data are deleted.

The budget on your device and your exports are kept: export first if you need to.

Erase the data on your device

Web app
Clear the data for the monbudgetavecgoldy.fr site in your browser settings. Without an export beforehand, this is permanent.
Windows
Uninstalling deliberately keeps your Goldy profile to avoid accidental loss. After closing Goldy and exporting a backup if needed, you can delete the %APPDATA%\Goldy folder (local storage, preferences and recovery copies).
